Outreach is, by its definition, tied to identifying and serving under-served populations. How does Ensembl address that? We provide services to communities who might not otherwise have access to those services through scientific outreach in low-middle income countries (LMIC) and by public engagement in groups that might lack science exposure. We provide training materials, tutorials and helpdesk support, spread awareness on social media and run webinars, as well as classroom workshops around the world. Our resources are open source and open access, freely available to anyone.Continue reading
Are you interested in having us come to your institute to deliver an Ensembl workshop, but are not quite sure what it involves? This blog is a guide for you.
This September, we’re excited to announce the third iteration of our free webinar-based browser course. While our in-person workshops are the best way to learn about Ensembl, we know that not everyone can attend or organise one. If that’s you, then our webinar course is perfect for you.
You might know that we offer training courses on using the Ensembl browser, but did you know that we also offer Ensembl REST API and Ensembl Train the Trainer courses? We can come to you to deliver any of these courses at your institute and we don’t charge any fees. If you’re in a low-middle income country, we don’t even charge you for expenses.
