Ensembl 102 has been released!
We are pleased to announce the release of Ensembl 102, and the corresponding release of Ensembl Genomes 49 featuring lots of new and updated data in this release including the addition of human population frequency data from the NCBI Allele Frequency Aggregator, new plant species and a large update of the available bacterial data.
Genome assemblies and annotation for many new species are also being continuously added to the Ensembl Rapid Release genome browser.
Update: Disruption to Ensembl services – tools are now restored
Due to problems at our Data Centre starting on Thursday 8th October, we experienced a period of reduced functionality affecting Ensembl tools, user accounts and archives.
Retirement of Ensembl Pre! site
The Ensembl pre! site will be retired on 31st January 2021.

We’re pleased to announce the release of Ensembl 101, and the corresponding release of Ensembl Genomes 48. The highlights of this release include an update of the human gene annotation and new population frequency data along with 39 new genomes including a new sheep reference and crop cultivars.
